Industry Best Practice Instructional Design Templates Drive Positive Customer Experience

The Challenge

A major payroll and benefits solutions company had gone through extensive updates to their business processes and software solutions. They needed to quickly reflect these new changes to their existing training materials as well as develop new content to their knowledge base for internal associates and external clients. This equated to developing and validating 100s of hours of instructor-led and online training content. This would be done by a large internal L&D team and a number of supplemental staff in a short timeline. Ensuring that all deliverables had a consistent look and feel was of paramount importance.

The Solution:

The LTS team had considerable Instructional Design experience and skills that the client leveraged to start the engagement by working on establishing industry best practice templates for the entire L&D team to use going forward. The consultants started by updating and refining a template to use for Video and eLearning Storyboarding, that would then be used by developers to create consistent eLearning and instructional videos using Storyline and Camtasia Authoring tools. In addition, LTS worked on standard Student Guide and Instructor Guide formats for Instructor-Led Training courses, as well as Reference Guides and Job Aid formats.

The Results:

The client was very satisfied with the content, methodology, and design insights brought in by the LTS instructional design staff. They were impressed by the professionalism of the LTS team to collaborate closely with subject-matter experts to properly articulate and fashion the complex content for a general audience. In addition the client appreciated the collaborative integration of the LTS consultants with the internal L&D team. The Industry best practice templates ensured a consistent look and feel and enabled the client to deploy internal resources on multiple courses during different development stages. The client takes great pride in offering training and onboarding support to its many external customers and we were happy to help them deliver on that promise.
